Full moons are all about an end of a cycle, and taking care of any loose ends or feelings before moving onto the new phase. Full moons symbolize release and renewal which means forgiving and letting go. As the moon moves into libra, the themes of this sign of balance and harmony come into play.

This is a good time to make apologizes and hash out anything that’s still on your heart and mind. Review connections. Is there someone in your life that doesn’t make you feel good? Is it comfortable. We don’t have to keep people in our lives. Is there something from the past that was not closed out properly.

Don’t let the ego lead. Explore your triggers and try not to be reactive. Remember you don’t always need to prove a point or make yourself heard. This is a time to think about why a person is bothering you or why are you angry. The lesson of leading through the heart is prominent at this time. Begin to ask yourself: How would I treat this situation or person with compassion? The libra full moon brings about the message to cultivate our own inner peace. It may be time to ask yourself what does peace mean for you?

It can be easy to get upset over what others say and think about you, but it is time to prioritize your peace. Libra’s lesson is to not let them suck out your energy. You are in charge of your daily choices. What will you give your energy to today?

Weekly Affirmation:

“I am attracting high vibrational love, divine alignment, mystical manifestations, soul healing and balanced bliss. I give myself permission to receive all of the happiness and harmony the Universe wants to give me.”

Libra is all about balance! Physically balance poses allow us to activate the deep muscles that integrate different parts of the body to work together Incorporating balance poses help enhance coordination and increase body awareness. Asymmetrical balance poses like Tree, Warrior 3, and require you to find and maintain your center of balance. We become more grounded when we face our fear of falling and learn to trust our body with balance.

Heart opening poses like Humble Warrior will help open you up to receive, as Libra is also associated with the heart chakra. Heart opening in yoga can happen through posture, breath, or meditation – and affects not just the physical structure of the chest (layers of tissue, bone and muscle) where the heart resides, but the energetic and emotional capacity (love, compassion, acceptance, gratitude, to name a few) of ourselves as well. Incorporating heart openers in yoga helps us to open up and show our true selves, to love, feel compassion, empathy, and gratitude towards ourselves and others.

Let’s alleviate that lower back pain this season! Libra rules the lumbar and lower back, but did you know that opening our hips and the front of our body can actually help bring relief to the lower back pain we experience on the daily? Our first inclination is often to bend and “stretch” the low back with forward folds and the like. However, most of the time low back pain is a result of over stretching! We often are folded forward during the day when we are working, texting, driving, cooking, sitting, etc. Hip opening poses like Goddess, Extended child’s pose and piegon will be your best friends here to open the hips and the front of our body.
